15 Insightful Bible Verses on Overthinking
Under the disguise of planning for the days ahead, we often end up overthinking.
It is true that anyone who fails to plan has automatically planned to fail, and even Jesus admonished us to sit down and count the costs before embarking on any project. But we usually go beyond estimating to overestimate! And that wasn’t Jesus’ words to us. On the contrary, Jesus told us not to worry about tomorrow.
So, where and how can we find the balance? Does it seem like Jesus contradicted Himself? No, He didn’t.
Actually, to think is to consider an existing idea. For example, you want to start a building project, but your resources are limited, or even if they are not, you need to sit down to estimate how you will spend the available resources to get the results you want. On the other hand, overthinking is creating issues that do not exist. Better put, invoking negative assumptions like overlooking the resources at hand.
In other words, thinking starts with what is in your hands, and overthinking begins with what is out of your hands. God wants you to think, not to overthink.
So, what does the Bible say about overthinking? What are some Bible verses about overthinking?
Here are 15 Insightful Bible Verses on Overthinking
1- 2 Corinthians 10 v 5:
“These weapons can break down every proud argument against God and every wall that can be built to keep men from finding him. With these weapons I can capture rebels and bring them back to God and change them into men whose hearts’ desire is obedience to Christ.”
2- 1 Peter 5 v 7:
“Let him have all your worries and cares, for he is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you.”
3- Matthew 6 v 27:
“Will all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
4- Philippians 4 v 6:
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers.”
5- Colossians 3 v 2 – 3:

6- Proverbs 3 v 5 – 6:
“With all your heart you must trust the Lord and not your own judgment. Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow.”

12- Matthew 11 v 28 – 30:

13- Joshua 1 v 9:

14- Hebrews 12 v 1 – 2:
“Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us. Keep your eyes on Jesus, our leader and instructor. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterwards; and now he sits in the place of honor by the throne of God.”
