15 Insightful Bible Verses on Being A Man Of God
In our contemporary times, the usage of the phrase “man of God” is so rampant.
Automatically, anyone who shows some commitment to the ways of God is tagged a man of God or woman of God, depending on their gender. I have a lot of people, friends and acquaintances calling me this, and I do the same to others as well.
Sometimes, this comes off as a mockery. Just like when you hear phrases such as “Virgin Mary!” “Mother of Jesus!” “Holy holy!” Other times, it’s with genuine admiration and expectation. And that’s where our focus is.
Being a man of God is not just by bearing some religious titles like a pastor, minister, reverend, and even “man of God” or “woman of God.” That does not make you a man of God automatically. We have passed the era of tasks and titles in the Church.
So, how can you become a man of God?
The “man of God” is a man who has picked up the Cross of Christ and is willingly walking in the ways and will of God. You become a man of God when you accept Jesus as the Lord and Saviour over your life. And this is not a secret affair but an open commitment.
It’s an open commitment to put God first by seeking Him more in studying His Word, communing with Him in prayer, and prompting putting the Word into practice. A man of God is not compelled but willing to serve God and give God total access to himself and his resources. Faithfulness to this path heightened your fellowship with other believers and attentiveness to sound teachings of the gospel.
Hence, there will be a clear distinction between you and the world. It’s this demarcation plus complete opposition to what the world approves of that attracts the testimony of your alignment with God.
